This is just me having some fun with heraldry.

These are arms I made up. For what it's worth, they're vaguely based on arms I found in a German roll of arms. The German word for ostrich is strauss, making these canting arms, or in German "redende wappen". (I think that's kind of clever.)

The boar's head signifies hospitality, and the books and owl signify wisdom and learning. The motto translates to "From wisdom comes strength". (I made that up myself. Heh.) Supposedly azure (blue) signifies loyalty, and argent (silver) signifies purity, although nobody's really sure about that, or even if they signify anything at all, really. Loyalty and purity sound good enough for me. (Whether they're accurate for me is left as an exercise for the reader.)

Anyway, here they are:

Azure, an ostrich argent beaked and membered Or, holding in its beak a horseshoe proper, on a chief argent a boar's head erased proper between two books bound and open gules. Crest: An owl proper. Motto: Ex sapientia vires.

Motto: Ex sapientia vires.

In the centre of the fly, an ostrich argent beaked and membered Or, holding in its beak a horseshoe proper, on a field Azure. At the hoist, a boar's head erased proper above a book bound and open gules on a panel argent.
